Weekly Email Update 7/7/2025

CWS Summer Weekly Update – July 7, 2025

Weekend Recap:

It was a scorching 4th of July! This past weekend, instead of lacrosse, the Stevens Point area Youth Lacrosse and Central Wisconsin Select teams participated in the 4th of July parade in Stevens Point. The event saw fantastic representation from both players and parents. A big thank you to the Sova and Phillis families for organizing, and for providing the loot and the float!

Practice Update:Practice start time for all practices is at 6:00 pm. This allows all players to arrive on time and be ready for the start of practice. Monday and Thursday- Goerke 6-8 pm. Tuesday - DCE 6-8 pm.

Reminder:Players are encouraged to assist with setup and cleanup at every practice. Our coaches volunteer their time, so let's show our support!

Inclement Weather:Is practice still on?!? It's challenging to provide advance notice if practice needs to be canceled. Coaches will do what they can to notify us if weather conditions change, but conflicting forecasts from different weather apps make it hard to guarantee any advance notice, be prepared that practice will go on!

With our limited number of practices, we aim to continue even in the rain—unless there's lightning or severe weather. In such cases, coaches will clear everyone from the field and seek shelter under the stands (not the metal bleachers) or other safe spaces. They know the safety protocols for resuming practice if it's suspended due to weather.

Hey everyone! I'm certain you've seen me with my camera on the sidelines at the tournaments. Here is where I'm putting the photos:drive.google.com/drive/folders/1eTdD-o96cr2Ruy86A9kjiJZGrFL-pNu9?usp=sharing

There are only 2 games up right now, more will be coming. Our summer is full and it takes me a while to get through the more than 250 photos that I take for each game. You should also see a photo release, if you'd like to get some of them printed. You can download and save whatever ones you like and post to your personal social media. As I work through more games (I have photos from all of them so far), I'll get them posted so make sure to save this link because I'll leave them posted for a while even after the season is done. There are a lot of photos in each folder, make sure you give them a chance to load so you can see them all. Enjoy the photos!!

Two more weeks!Let's finish strong and support each other both on and off the field.

As we wrap up the season, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Equipment return

Recognizing our 2026 grads (this is their last regular summer season)

Celebrating our coaches and everyone who makes this possible

Preparing future leaders to ensure our program continues to grow stronger each year

Let's make these final weeks count!

CWS Summer Weekly Update – June 30, 2025

Weekend Recap:

While I haven't had the chance to hear much from players or families this past weekend, from what I did hear, it may not have been the best weekend on the field for the 14U team. Remember, every game is a valuable learning experience and an opportunity to grow. Keep your spirits high, stay positive, and enjoy the journey. Great things are ahead!
