Summer is coming to a close... or at least the lacrosse season is!
What a fantastic summer it was for Central Wisconsin Select. We had more than 50 athletes from communities across Wisconsin participate in our program this year. It was great to watch players from different backgrounds come together, compete at a high level, build friendships, and proudly represent CWS.
A special thank you and congratulations to our 10 graduating seniors from the Class of 2026. Thank you for being part of the program this summer. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors and look forward to seeing what comes next for each of you.
To our players, parents, coaches, board members, volunteers, and supporters: thank you. Central Wisconsin Select exists because of the dedication and passion of our lacrosse community. Your support made this another memorable season.
Board Recruitment & Meeting
The next Central Wisconsin Select Board Meeting is scheduled for:

Tentative Start Time: 6:30 PM
The primary focus of this meeting will be board recruitment and leadership transition planning.
Our board is informal, collaborative, and always looking for new ideas and helping hands. Whether your strengths are in planning, communication, fundraising, tournament coordination, social media, sponsorships, or simply lending a hand where needed, there is a place for you.
The reality is simple: the more people we have involved, the stronger our program becomes.
All are welcome to attend.
We had several parents express interest during our end-of-season celebration, and we greatly appreciate that enthusiasm. I originally became involved because I wanted to make sure my son had the best lacrosse experience possible. Over time, I've seen firsthand the positive impact this program has on young athletes. As with any successful organization, there comes a time to pass the baton and welcome the next group of leaders.
If you have ever considered getting involved, now is the perfect time. Watch for additional details in the coming days, but please save the date.
Refund Information
The Board has approved refunds related to the cancellation of our final summer tournament.
We needed to wait until we received the final information regarding credits and refunds from tournament organizers before determining what could be returned to families.
Players who participated in the full season and paid the standard registration fee will receive a $100 refund.
Registrations that received discounts or account credits will have refunds prorated accordingly. Whenever possible, refunds will be issued back to the original payment method.
As we continue to learn our new registration platform, we've discovered that refunds involving credits and partial payments can be more complicated than expected. Please be patient as we work through those situations. We are committed to ensuring everyone receives the appropriate refund.

Rip the Wave Tournament Update
Unfortunately, it appears the wave has officially flatlined.
It was disappointing to be told as late as Thursday before the tournament that there was no chance the event would be canceled, only to have it canceled shortly thereafter.
We are continuing to work through the refund process associated with the event. We have also requested updates regarding parking refunds, although we have not received any information at this time. It is possible refunds have already been processed without notification. We will continue to follow up and communicate any updates we receive.
Fall Ball Registration Is Open!
We're excited to announce that Fall Ball registration is now open, and we currently have two tournaments scheduled.

Cost
$250 per player
At this price point, Fall Ball essentially operates at break-even. Registration fees primarily cover tournament entry costs and do not contribute significantly toward overall program expenses.
We intentionally took this approach to make Fall Ball as affordable as possible while still providing a high-quality experience. We'd love to see a strong turnout this fall, so please register early and help spread the word to teammates and friends.
Looking Ahead:
It may not be Fluid.
It may not be Construct.
But it is Central Wisconsin Select, the best club lacrosse program in the state!
For years, CWS has provided opportunities for athletes across Central Wisconsin to compete, develop their skills, and continue their love of the game. Many former players have gone on to play at the collegiate level and beyond, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments.
Our program is personal. It is affordable. It is community-driven. Most importantly, it creates opportunities for young athletes to grow as players, teammates, and people.
There are bigger programs. There are flashier programs. But we firmly believe there isn't a better program for developing players and building community than Central Wisconsin Select.
Let's continue building on that legacy and keep the flame alive for years to come.
