Hello CWS Families,

Here we go! We have two tournaments over the next two weekends, and then we'll close out another great CWS season. As we head into the final stretch, there are several important updates and a few items that require action from families. Please take a few minutes to review everything below.

1. Volunteer Needed: End-of-Season Potluck & Gathering

We would love to host an end-of-season gathering on Tuesday, July 21, to celebrate our players, families, and coaches. However, we need one or more volunteers willing to help coordinate the event.

We are considering a location somewhere between Stevens Point and Wausau. The program may be able to cover a modest expense such as a park rental, pizza, or BBQ, while families could contribute potluck dishes, beverages, or other items to share.

Action Needed: If you are willing to help with securing a location, organizing food, or coordinating basic event details, please reply to this email.

Important: If we do not have volunteers committed by next weekend, we will simplify the evening and hold equipment return only on July 21.

2. Good Land Lacrosse Tournament

We expect tournament schedules to be released soon and will send a final reminder email once they become available. As with our last tournament, schedules will likely be posted through the SE Sports Tourney App.

3. Book Now: Rip the Wave Hotel Reminder

Rip the Wave will be here before we know it. If you have not reserved your hotel accommodations, please do so as soon as possible.

Hotel blocks may be released soon, and availability could become limited.

4. Reply Needed: Fall Ball Interest

We are exploring the possibility of offering a High School Fall Ball program that would participate in one or two tournaments this fall.

We understand that fall sports, Homecoming, school activities, and other commitments may impact availability, so we need to gauge interest before finalizing any plans.

We hope to make a decision by the end of July, so timely responses are appreciated and needed.

5. Help Shape the Future of CWS

If you'd like to see Central Wisconsin Select continue and grow in the years ahead, please consider joining our stakeholder board.

As my children age out of the program, I will be stepping down as President after this season. I am happy to continue helping behind the scenes, and I know several others are willing to support as well. However, we need new leaders to step forward to ensure the long-term success of the program.

The stakeholder board is a collaborative group that typically meets remotely once per month. Responsibilities can include:

• Website updates
• Family communications and emails
• Registration support
• Tournament roster management
• Program planning and other behind-the-scenes operations

When several people share the workload, the time commitment is very manageable.

Action Needed: At our end-of-season gathering—or equipment return night, if no gathering is held—we will be making a focused effort to identify the next group of stakeholders who can help lead CWS moving forward.

The future of this program depends on parent involvement. Strength in numbers is what will keep CWS strong for years to come.
